The Travelling Farmers Project

We, Jules and Tristan, are two 22 y.o. French students in HEC Paris, a French Business  School.

In 2015, we will leave our finance and marketing classes behind to work in farms over the five continents!

Our adventure will take us to Uruguay,  Mexico, the USA, Alaska, New-Zealand, Myanmar, Mongolia, Israel,

Ivory Coast and France.

In each of these countries, we will help farmers in their everyday work. In exchange for our work, we only expect from

them a bed and three meals per day. Far away from our stressful urban life, we will dedicate this year to something

which really matters: food production, one of the only goods that we really need.

During this amazing trip, we will share with you our discoveries and the beautiful and/or hard moments that we will

go through. So stay tuned by liking our Facebook Page, and by checking regularly the Blog part of this website.

In short for the busy ones: 1 year, 2 students, 5 continents and 10 farms.

Follow our adventure!

Why this round-the-world farming trip?

In our Business School, we have the great opportunity to study complex and theoretical topics: finance, strategy…

But this also created a feeling of disconnection with simple and concret realities. This is why,

before starting our professional life, we wanted to dedicate a year to a more concrete work.

We have always been fond of travelling, and keep unforgettable memories from our respective six months in China and Argentina. This year will be the opportunity for us to discover places and meet people that we would not have met otherwise.

Why agriculture and not another activity ? Because food production is the fundamental activity, because there are farms everywhere in the world, and because we wanted to live the life that dozens of generations have lived before us.

And isn't it cool to be able to drive a tractor or to be a cow-boy once in your life?

For all these reasons, we have decided to spend this year working in different farms from all types and

sizes to have a global overview of today’s agriculture, and to meet the men and women who wake up

every morning to feed 7 billion hungry people.
